Keep the Fire Burning: Celebrating Indigenous Culture in Women’s Football!
Join us on Saturday 20th July for First Nations Round as we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we play football on, and the ongoing contribution First Nations’ people make to our great game and football club.
Prior to the commencement of our Reserves match, we encourage players, coaches, officials and the broader MU/St Kevin’s community to join us at 10am for a smoking ceremony with the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation. A BBQ will be served from 3/4 time of the Seniors match, with post-match drinks served at bar price in the pavilion.
Following both matches and post-match drinks, join us to Keep the Fire Burning for our post-match event - Keep the Fire Burning: First Nations’ Round iPod Shuffle Night at the Ernie Cropley Pavilion for an Tickets to this event can be purchased for $30 here: https://square.link/u/GFJFj6uy
All profit raised from the iPod Shuffle, ticket sales & bar sales will be donated to Aboriginal organisation Djirra. You can learn more about the work they do to support and empower First Nations’ community here: https://djirra.org.au/
